Job Summary: The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laundry facility. They manage and lead a team of laundry attendants, ensure the proper maintenance of laundry equipment, and maintain high-quality laundry services. The Laundry Supervisor must also uphold safety and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Team Management:

    • Lead, train, and motivate a team of laundry attendants.
    • Assign tasks, set schedules, and monitor staff performance.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Ensure that staff adheres to dress code and follows safety guidelines.
  2. Laundry Operations:

    • Oversee the sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing of linens, uniforms, and other laundry items.
    • Ensure all laundry processes are efficient and meet quality standards.
    • Monitor the inventory of laundry supplies and place orders when necessary.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry area.
  3. Equipment Maintenance:

    • Regularly inspect and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines.
    • Coordinate equipment repairs and replacements as needed.
    • Train staff on the proper use and care of laundry equipment.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and defects.
    • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues related to laundry services.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Stay updated on health and safety regulations and ensure compliance.
    • Train staff on safety procedures and emergency protocols.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain records of laundry processes, including inventory, equipment maintenance, and staff schedules.
    • Generate reports on laundry productivity, expenses, and inventory levels.
  7. Cost Control:

    • Monitor laundry expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
    • Optimize resource utilization to minimize waste.


  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or coursework is a plus.
  • Previous experience in laundry operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of laundry equipment, chemicals, and laundry techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy laundry bags or equipment.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Bending, stooping, and kneeling as needed to operate equipment and perform tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • The Laundry Supervisor may work in a hot and humid environment.
  • The role may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and detergents.
