Job Summary

The Blue Aster Host is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in the restaurant area, ensuring their safety, comfort, and satisfaction. This role includes assisting with any activities held in the restaurant, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and addressing guest needs in a friendly and professional manner. 

Job Duties:

• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner upon entering the venue.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain a friendly, approachable, and helpful demeanor at all times.
• Bid farewell to all guests upon departing and extend an invitation to return to visit soon.

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and concerns.
• Address guest complaints in a positive and solution-oriented manner.
• Ensure all guest requests are handled in a timely manner to enhance the guest experience.

• Assist with the inventory of Blue Aster supplies and notify supervisors when stock is running low.
• Ensure all Conrad Nashville core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied. 
• Other duties as assigned e.g. complies with telephone etiquette and basic welcoming hospitality standards.
• Oversee daily restaurant reservations and pre-seating assignments, when necessary. 
• Answer restaurant telephone courteously, quickly and efficiently.
• Manages allergens upon arrival, handwritten Birthday cards, special requests, name usage and return guests recognition. 
• Perform all opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
• Rotate to other Food & Beverage outlets/venues, as necessary.
• Work closely with other Blue Aster staff to ensure smooth operations and a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic knowledge of food & beverage and cleanliness is a plus.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
• A positive, enthusiastic, and friendly attitude is essential.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift and carry light to moderate objects.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
