Staff Accountant

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000

Job Description

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial health of our hotels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results to management.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, including collections and credit control.
• General Ledger:
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Bank Reconciliations:
• Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Analysis:
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis to support decision-making.
• Audit Support:
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Other Duties:
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.
• Stay updated on accounting principles and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 
• 0 to 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
