Banquet Manager

Compensation: 65,000.00- $70,000.00

Job Description

Job Summary

 The Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of banquet operations at the hotel. This includes planning, organizing, and directing all functions of banquets, conferences, and special events. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Job Duties

  • Trains, evaluates and schedules Banquet associates in accordance with the standards of the company policies and guidelines
  • The ability to hire, train, motivate, direct and supervise the work of the associates in the banquets department
  • Ensure proper care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision of service personnel
  • Organize and orchestrate any last-minute changes or details to functions
  • Directly oversee the actual set-up and service of contracted functions by gig specific menu information to the servers, by coordinating the timing of the events with the Executive Chef/Banquet Chef and by assigning functions to the Captains and Banquet Servers to ensure the success of the function
  • Communicate directly with the hosts of functions and go over the details of the function.
  • Post all contracted function sheets
  • Oversee payroll and gratuity reports as required
  • Coordinate and insure the needs of the Catering department with the managers of interrelated departments

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar position, preferably in luxury environment
  • Excellent leader and trainer
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle guest requests in a detailed manner
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of food and preparation
  • Have a in-depth knowledge of wine
  • Be able to consistently delight out guests
Physical Requirements
  • Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual activity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be flexible to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays if assigned.
