Job Description

Job Summary: As an Engineer you will be responsible to assist in maintaining the standards of all regulatory requirements for our luxury hotel. Attending to guest repair requests and communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance in hotel rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and mechanical equipment, etc.
- Clearly greets in a positive calm manner with a smile, speaks in clear calm tone and offers engineering assistance
- Offering all guests and team members an efficient and attentive resolution.
- Consistently efficient & timely use of POS Hilton OnQ / Quore and all other guest and team technology systems.
- Offers and promotes all hotel services, amenities and offers elevated service in line with Forbes service of excellence.
- Resolves guest challenges with empowerment to exceed expectations in line with company goals, objectives, vision and values of Conrad Nashville.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to guests requests for service according to company policy. Record progress and completion in core timely.
- Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms, commercial kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and mechanical equipment.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment and machinery regularly.
- Guest Rooms: Troubleshoot basic plumbing (plunging toilet, unclog drains, etc), electrical equipment (lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devises, replace electrical switches, outlets and other guestroom items), Program TV’s and perform other engineering related duties.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of mechanical equipment.
- Assist in maintaining and recording the supplies needed for the Engineering Department.
- Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and on time.
- Work closely with Housekeeping to ensure coordination of maintenance in rooms.
- Work closely with Restaurant, Kitchen and Catering to coordinate maintenance needed to be completed.
- Demonstrates Conrad Nashville product knowledge including hotel, layouts and guestroom views
- Follows and offers a consistent authentic delivery of Forbes Service guidelines for excellence at all times
- Participates in creating, implementing, and executing department culture to maintain all SOP standards.
- With empowerment to resolve any guest concerns, shows empathy, offers apologies and demonstrates good listening skills with the ability to resolve concerns in a proactive manner, or seek guidance to do so.
- Upholds all procedures for VIP guests, security protocol and safety of all
- Demonstrates consistent delivery of all SOP standards
- Comply with all systems and procedures trained by Director of Engineering to include yet not limited to: Air Handling / refrigeration / lighting / Kitchen equipment / furniture / elevators / pool maintenance / Fire Health & Life Safety Systems
- Ability to assist in the role of a key communicator to all emergency services
- Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis, also be available to be on call. (Flexible and willing to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays)
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; 3 years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance at a comparable facility.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in customer service
- Keyboard skills basic knowledge of Word, Excel, plus ability to complete basic math
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Hotel Operations (past property maintenance or hotel experience preferred)
- Knowledge of Quore and Hilton OnQ systems preferred.
- EPA Certified
- CPO Certified

Physical Requirements:
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual activity.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- All team members must maintain a neat, professional, clean and well-groomed appearance.
- Must be flexible to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays if assigned.
