Compensation: $300,000 to $320,000 per year

Job Overview
The new SVP of Finance will be a trusted advisor to Northwood Hospitality's senior management team and Northwood Investors' investment team. The individual will draw on a blend of hospitality industry experience, a broad knowledge of different areas of finance, and experience leading a high-performing team.

Ideal Experience

Senior Leadership
- A minimum of 15 years business experience with a progression of finance positions that include a range of accounting, control, and FP&A roles.

Financial Expertise
- Knowledge of hotel accounting practices and systems is quite important, as are strong FP&A skills and a deep understanding of hotel budgeting and forecasting and industry-specific metrics.

Hospitality Experience
- Hospitality experience is required, preferable some of which will have been in an entrepreneurial setting. Experience working for a hotel management company is most relevant. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a finance director at a property and more recent experience in a regional or corporate setting overseeing a portfolio of hotels.

M&A Experience
- Experience or involvement with underwriting new deals is preferred.

- Segments the total market covered in own area into categories of customer or client.
- Adopts a long-term perspective about the business (customer segments and the external environment). Develops hypothesis or alternative scenarios of how critical issues will play out beyond the year and uses these to set challenging goals with a future payoff or outcomes
- Translates business goals into well-defined performance plans for their own organization and communicates link between current activities and goals.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as accounting or finance is required, and an MBA and/or CPA are preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience, 7+ years of demonstrated Finance, Accounting, and FP&A leadership, preferable within a hospitality company.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Deep understanding of financial analysis and reporting, key business metrics, forecasting, and annual budgeting.
- Demonstrates the ability to seek input, make connections, and recognize patterns that lead to effective decision making and action.
- Demonstrates the ability and instinct to identify and capitalize on a wide variety of opportunities to grow earnings and the business.
- Must be results oriented and demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience building, mentoring, and leading a team of 8-10 colleagues is critical.
- Ability to travel at least 50%
Salary Range: $300,000 - $320,000 + bonus potential
