Job Summary

The Director of Finance is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team at Conrad Nashville, responsible for overseeing the hotel’s financial strategy, planning, and performance. This role supports the long-term financial health of the property by ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining rigorous internal controls, and delivering actionable insights to drive profitability. Operated by Northwood Hospitality and part of the Hilton luxury brand portfolio, Conrad Nashville seeks a finance leader who combines strategic vision with operational expertise in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Essential Functions

The Director of Finance is accountable for the overall financial management of the hotel, ensuring that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared and presented in accordance with Hilton brand standards, ownership requirements, and all applicable regulatory guidelines. This role supports the operational effectiveness of the property by partnering with department heads to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance targets. The Director leads the finance team in maintaining internal controls, managing cash flow, and preparing for audits. In addition to managing the daily financial operations, the Director plays an active role in strategic business planning, identifying financial risks and opportunities, and ensuring that sound financial decisions are made throughout the organization. This position also involves training and developing team members, supporting the overall success of the hotel’s leadership group, and acting as a key point of contact for ownership and corporate finance teams.

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of the hotel's accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Prepare and review month-end close, financial statements, and variance analyses.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure accurate financial planning and adherence to budgets.
  • Maintain relationships with external partners, including auditors, banks, vendors, and insurance providers.
  • Ensure effective use of financial software and systems; lead implementation or optimization efforts as needed.
  • Enforce financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.

Skills

  • Graduation from a well-known hotel school or demonstration of previous successful management of a quality hotel and restaurant operation.
  • Excellent verbal, comprehension, listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Several years of financial management experience.
  • Ability to deal with a diverse staff and to operate efficiently despite stressful time pressure.
  • Interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Adaptability

Minimum Experience Requirements

A minimum of 5 year’s financial management experience required, preferably in the hospitality industry and minimum experience of 1 to 2 year in the same position at 4 Star or 5 Star Hotel. Experience with Hilton ONQ PMS. BS or BA in hotel administration, management or accounting is preferred.

A working knowledge of luxury hotel standards and management execution with an entrepreneurial spirit to create and mentor superior hotel talent is essential.  In addition, a history with annual revenue and expense budgets is preferred.
