Job Description

Job Summary: Under direction of the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the Front Desk & Re:fuel and the seemingly effortless movement of guests through the hotel. This includes the role of resident expert on all required aloft brand standards related to check-in and checkout procedures, kiosk operations (both check-in/check-out and entertainment), re:fuel sales and the general operations of hotel facilities.   

The ideal Guest Services Supervisor candidate must illustrate the ability and drive to:    

  • Embrace the aloft culture, paying particular attention to the ongoing training of Talent to ensure the aloft signature service is always being provided   
  • Assist the Guest Services Manager (GSM) in motivating the team and being the eyes and ears of guest services while the GSM is not on property   
  • Be the pulse of the building. In the know, managing it all and having fun   
  • “Owning” the desk and desk operations, striving to exceed guest expectations at every opportunity   
  • Be a natural leader that people gravitate to and love to emulate   
  • With an entrepreneurial spirit, run the desk and surrounding area as if it is his/her own   
  • Create a fun, energized and comfortable working environment for both the Talent and him/herself   
  • Never walk past a pillow out of place or a piece of paper on the ground and instead takes the time to make it right   
  • Build strong relationships with peer departments to most efficiently operate the hotel   
  • Drive product quality and attract the “best in class” in our respective markets   
  • Motivate a team of 10-12 Talent with an energetic and contagious style   
  • Be engaged with and accessible to the Talent at all times   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent   
  • 2 to 3 years previous experience providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction   
  • Previous hotel front desk experience, preferably in a supervisory role    

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills   
  • Basic computer and math skills   
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills   
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays   

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to stand and move about the hotel for extended periods, walk, sit, bend, hear, talk, grasp and perform repetitive motions  
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 25 lbs. occasionally
