Job Description

Position Overview:


The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering top-notch food and beverage service at special events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties held at Planters Inn. This role involves setting up, serving, and breaking down events, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and passionate about providing memorable experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare banquet rooms for events by setting up tables, linens, chairs, and any necessary equipment or decorations according to event specifications.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner during events, adhering to established service standards.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by being attentive to their needs, addressing special requests, and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Clear tables and clean event spaces during and after the event to ensure they meet Planters Inn's cleanliness standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and event coordinators to ensure seamless service.
  • Assist with the breakdown and storage of banquet materials, such as tables, chairs, and equipment, after the event.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and dietary restrictions, to address guest questions accurately.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and serving of food and beverages.
  • Uphold Planters Inn’s high standards of hospitality and service, representing the inn with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Support other team members as needed to ensure the success of each event.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a banquet or catering environment is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality guest experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as required for banquet setup and service.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
