Job Description
The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing areas, and food preparation equipment. This role supports the culinary team by ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient working environment in accordance with hotel standards and health regulations.
- Clean and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans in a timely manner
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are properly cleaned, dried, and stored in designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, including floors, walls, and storage spaces
- Remove trash and recycling, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and equipment cleaning
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed
- Follow proper procedures for handling and using cleaning chemicals
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times
- Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist others
- Remain dependable and able to perform duties in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous dishwashing, stewarding, or kitchen support experience preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation practices
- Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals preferred
