Lead Maintenance Technician

Compensation: 21.00-23.00

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY   

The Lead Maintenance Tech is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering division in the absence of the director. You will assistant with the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the hotel as they relate to Engineering within the Ballantyne Hotel, Lodge and Cottage.

JOB DUTIES   

• Ongoing repair and maintenance of the entire hotel and F&B facilities including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain effective Energy Management. Continuously looks for energy-efficient solutions and Innovative projects.
• Regularly lead, mentor, and coordinate activities of the engineering staff engaged in maintaining and repairing the physical structure of the building promptly and efficiently to the required standards.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings, and performance evaluations and ensure the ongoing development of the Engineering team to ensure effective communication and standards are adhered to in the department.
• Oversee departmental budget under the direction of the Director of Engineering including forecasting, budgeting, capital planning, and proposals to ensure ongoing maintenance of the hotel.
• Ensure all local, state, and federal law compliance and building codes are adhered to.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE    

Bachelor's degree, preferably in facilities management, engineering or construction-related field.

3+ years of hospitality facilities management in hotels preferred  

2+ years experience in a luxury hotel property preferred

Specialized technical crafts (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing) 

Required Skills and Abilities   

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic math skills  

Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office  

Detail oriented

Excellent time management and organizational skills  

Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays  

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS    

Ability to stand and move about the hotel throughout shift, walk, climb, sit, hear, listen, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions   

Ability to push, pull, lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 75 lbs frequently
