Job Description

The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth restaurant operation. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and maintain the highest standards of service and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Oversee food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies and food items.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train new staff members.
- Develop and implement staff training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Create and manage staff schedules to optimize labor costs and ensure adequate coverage.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to staff.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints.
- Train staff on excellent customer service techniques and standards.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in managing the restaurant's budget and controlling costs.
- Monitor sales and revenue performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct regular inventory and cost analysis to optimize profitability.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all financial reports and paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and industry standards
- Proficiency in restaurant management software systems
- Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
