Job Description

Job Summary

Warmly greets guests to Gallery Restaurant to ensure a welcoming and inviting environment for guests to dine. Seats guests, establishes rapport, and assists with restaurant service during busy periods. Follows all Forbes and brand standards.

Job Duties

  •   Takes reservations via phone and in person. 
  • Greets and assists guests in a professional and prompt manner, using guests' names when possible. 
  • Seats guests at their tables, establishes rapport in a genuine manner and provides menus. 
  • Monitors dining room to anticipate guests' needs. Assists guests or communicates their needs to servers and server assistants. 
  • Assists in clearing off and resetting tables during busy periods. 
  • Maintains host stand in a clean and organized manner. 

    • Education and Experience

  •     High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
  •     1 - 2 years previous experience in a Forbes 4 or 5 star restaurant preferred
  •     Experience using Opentable preferred 

    • Skills & Abilities

  •     Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •     Strong customer service focus 
  •     Excellent organizational skills 
  •     Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  •     Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays 

    • Physical Requirements

  •     Ability to stand and walk during entire shift, talk, hear, reach, bend and grasp
  •     Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move items up to 15 lbs.
