Job Description

Job Summary
The Marketing Manager develops and executes marketing, social media and public relations programs in specific channels as defined by The Ballantyne's business plan. This position is responsible for ensuring the hotel is positioned properly, focusing on proper message/content creation and execution along with managing all visual identity across multiple channels, including both on-property and external. The Marketing Manager supports business objectives, including developing revenue focused marketing campaigns, driving guest acquisition, fostering engagement through content creation and supporting guest reputation management. The Marketing Manager also interacts with various agency account managers, CRM partners, designated print companies and on-property departments to ensure communication materials and campaigns are produced within agreed upon budget, in accordance with company standards and delivered in a timely manner.
Job Duties
- Actively develops annual marketing, social media and communications plan in tandem with Director of Sales & Marketing; actively manages initiatives and action plan, focusing on delivering projects in a timely and on-budget manner.
- Builds and fosters collaborative relationships both at the corporate and on-property level to support needs and executive initiatives.
- Manages the execution of assigned projects, from concept through development, delivery and analysis.
- Owns, manages and executes visual identity to ensure in-house collateral materials, sales materials, digital assets, emails, website and social sites all position the hotel accordingly and to ensure brand standards are met across channels. Also works collaboratively across functions to ensure visual identity is managed and executed accordingly for various outlets, (e.g., spa, golf, F&B).
- Executes day to day marketing tactics to support various strategies, including email marketing, visual identity management, campaign creation and execution.
- Manages and develops content across multiple channels including website, blogs, email, social, video, etc.
- Manages and ensures property content/information is correctly displayed on key third party sites, including but not limited to, OTA’s, meeting sites (e.g., Cvent), and agencies (e.g.,. Amex).
- Ensures property information is displayed correctly and effectively within the hotel, on the hotel's website and third-party sites (e.g., cVent, Wedding Wire, The Knot).
- Develops and executes communication programs focused on driving awareness, positioning the hotel and driving incremental revenues.
- Crafts briefs for various sales, public relations and marketing projects both for agency and internal cross-functional (e.g., sales department, operations, F&B) use; ensures briefs and projects support property goals.
- Maintains up-to-date marketing/communication/social media SOPs, resource guides and training documentation.
- Oversees photo management, including image distribution and file storage, ensuring libraries are current.
- Oversees and supports on-property coordinators in printing production.
- Acts as daily point of contact for any news/media inquiries; evaluates and identifies key opportunities that support and drive goals.
- Directs and assists General Manager with all crisis communication during any hotel emergency or safety concerns, including but not limited to, media and guest (both internal and external).
- Monitors and drives hotel guest reputation management, focusing on online reputation (e.g., Tripadvisor, OTA, social media) and internal guest comments. Evaluates comments and sentiments, identifying key positive or negative themes. Shares sentiments across functions and defines reputation tactics if needed.
- Analyzes and applies data across platforms, including digital, marketing and social; creates tactics based on data and measurable returns.
- Hosts, coordinates, and supports on-site media visits and on-site photo shoots.
- Receives and responds to all donation requests.
- Sources and manages inventory for sales client giveaway items including packaging.
Education and Experience
- 4-year degree in marketing, business or related field
- Relevant experience in marketing, advertising, public relations and/or digital
- Hospitality experience helpful
